Overview
In 2021, Ana, a passionate beauty enthusiast with a background in corporate fashion, approached us with an idea to disrupt the skincare market by launching a 2-step routine that addresses every skin need. While she initially wanted to focus on a minimalist approach, we found an even more exciting direction.

Research
Our research led us to the emerging field of psychodermatology, which explores the connection between the mind and the skin. According to psychodermatology,  stress and lack of sleep may be the biggest disruptors to skin health, causing inflammation, promoting degradation and interfering with repair. The contrast between this fact and the realities our  customers face in an extremely fast-paced culture, inspired Rest Religion's central idea.

Core idea

Rest Religion routine works like chicken soup for the skin—soothing the effects of stress, restoring the skin to health, and building "immunity" for future resilience.

Balancing aspiration with reality, Rest Religion is reclaiming rest as an essential part of well-being, while also offering support in times when  adequate rest isn’t within reach. Life is busy, and rest often falls down the priority list, but that's where Rest Religion steps in to see you through the hectic times.
In those days, Rest Religion routine acts as a safety net, allowing your skin to glow no matter what life throws at you. The products are focused on addressing the effects of both external and internal stressors on the skin and deliver such impressive results that you can look like you've slept even on those days you have not.

Naming and tagline

The name"Rest Religion" was love at first sight it encapsulates the brand's essence and evokes a sense of community.

Crafting a bold, memorable brand name is essential, and having a strong brand idea makes it so much easier! The name "Rest Religion" captures the core concept of  the brand and has the edginess that can rally a dedicated community around it. Skincare brand that backs your restful glow became the tagline, making the concept of restful glow one of the key brand attributes, which can be used in many creative interpretations. "Enter your restful glow era," greeting the customer upon opening the product packaging, is one such interpretation.

Identity
We centered the design around the metaphor of the "Holy Halo," a gradient that radiates from the products to your skin.  This celestial effect is serene but still intriguing, unlike the typical minimalist 'zen' look&feels, and is achieved through soft purples, pinks, and clean whites and grays. After countless iterations, we perfected a color palette that captures this radiant concept for the packaging.

Website design
Working closely with Ana and her partner James, we created a high-conversion website that blends marketing ingenuity with a beautiful, mobile-friendly design. We brainstormed innovative e-commerce strategies and seamlessly integrated them into the site layout, while also designing to convey the essence of the brand.
